The Tactical Responder course at Med-Tact has been specially designed to provide would be responders the core skills needed to render aid or assist during a tactical incident. This course provides five essential qualifications:
• Tactical Combat Casualty Care
• Warrior Dynamics Basic Pistol
• NRA Range Safety Officer Training
• SAR Survival (Wilderness Survival)
• REP Self-Defense (Self-Defense for Responding Emergency Professionals)
These courses will enable civilians to be well prepared and First Responders such as SAR, LEO, EMS and FIRE to be better equipped to deal with the tactical issues facing today's emergency responders.
About the Courses:
TCCC has become the standard of care for the tactical management of combat casualties within the Department of Defense and is the sole standard of care endorsed by both the American College of Surgeons and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) for casualty management in tactical environments. The focus of the instruction is to give the operator
the ability to recognize, evaluate and control life threatening wounds, airway compromise and chest
trauma, that present during a tactical mission by using an IFAK and aid bag.
Warrior Dynamics Basic Pistol
This Basic Pistol Course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and mindset to handle a firearm safely. This will be a new addition to this week. This will be taught by the instructors from Warrior Dynamics our sister company.
NRA Range Safety Officer
The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
The focus of this course is on the 3 pillars of survival training, fire, water and shelter. Learners will come to understand the core elements of survival psychology while being equipped to render aid to a patient, lost subject or self with a minimal kit. Kit mentality and hands on skills will be a large part of this course.
REP Self Defense
Designed for emergency responders, this training course will equip learners with the defender's mindset and train them on how to increase their awareness and be more responsive to threats. This course will also provide realistic and practical techniques to better defend themselves against common attacks including hot and cold weapons. This is a physical course that will require strenuous movements and forceful actions, so please wear comfortable clothing for martial arts type training and footwear. If you have a duty belt or other issued response equipment, bring it to learn specialized techniques for such equipment.
